Kongde -Yeti’s Trail

Yeti’s trail is based on our luxurious mountain lodges - Yeti Mountain Home, situated around the Trans Himalayan Range at Khumbu. The five lodges are located in Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Thame & Kongde which lies in the main trekking trail to Everest region. Every individual site of the lodges is chosen taking precaution for environmental impact approved by the Government providing the best view. Each room is designed to offer the guests with modern comforts along with running hot-cold water. Our Restaurants are recognized for the wide variety of food under hygienic conditions. And our well stuffed bar offers a selection of quality wines and liquor in a traditional ambience.
This program is designed to accommodate trekkers who prefer a comfortable stay while trekking in the hidden foot prints of Yeti. Accordingly to the Himalayan myth, this part of the Everest region – mainly valley of Thame use to be the abode place for Yetis. Furthermore, Thame use to be the trade point between Nepal and Tibet. Day 01: Departure from Home Country
Day 02: Arrive Kathmandu - 1317m
Arrival KTM Transfer to Hotel . Overnight in Yak & Yeti on (L,D).
Day 03: Fly Kathmandu-Lukla - 2840m to Phakding - 2610m
After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport for a flight to Lukla by Yeti Airlines. After Lunch at Lukla, 3 hrs walk to Phakding: We begin with a gentle climb up by the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Nupla 5885m and Kusumkang 6367m can be seen in the distance. Following the left bank of Dudh Koshi river we reach Phakding. After lunch we nearly have 1hour walk to the monastery of Sano Gomila, Rimijung Gompa. This gompa as well as those at Thame and Pangboche are homes to small idols, housed in a metal cask, rumored to be made from the branches of a white tree once grew here. We reach to Sano Gomila Village & Primary School. You can also enjoy the views of Thamserku and Kusumkang. We get back to the resort. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Phakding on (B.L,D).
Day 04: Trek to Namche - 3440m
After breakfast 5/6 hours walk to Namche: As you follow the level path along the right bank from the resort, Thamserku 6623m. looms skyward on the opposite bank. After crossing a stream and climbing the terraced hill from the Dudh Koshi route, you arrive at Banker. Walking on the riverbed on the left bank, through a forest you arrive at Chumow where you can visit the Vegetable Farm. Walking along a path with many ups and downs, crossing a stream you pass by a small village Manjo. Descending the stone steps you reach a suspension bridge. After short climb you come to Jorshale, the entrance to the National Park where a park entrance fee is collected.
Walking along the river you enter a forested mountainside and pass by a rocky area. After
crossing a high winding path you descend to the riverbed and reach a V-shaped valley. The river forks -the right is Dudh Kosi and the left is Bhote Kosi that leads to Nangpa La. Crossing a
suspension bridge and walking a short distance along the Bhote Kosi you ascend to Namche Bazar. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Namche on (B.L,D).
Day 05: Namche Excursion day
After breakfast you have nearly 2 hrs walk through the Syangboche Airport. Crossing a small forest we reach Khumjung Hillary High School. The village of Khumjung covers the largest area in Khumbu. After lunch at Khumjung we visit Khunde hospital. The hospital & school both are built and supported by Sir Edmund Hillary. You can have the views of the Majestic Mountains like Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Everest. Then return back to resort. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Namche on (B.L,D).
Day 06: Trek to Thame - 3800m
After breakfast, 2 and half hrs walk to Thamo. The trail is entry route to Tibet through Nangpa La which pass near by Cho Oyu 8012m, first summited in 1954. We stop for our lunch at Thamo, then after 2 hours walk from thamo you will reach the village of Ang Rita Sherpa, who holds a record of summiting Mt. Everest 10 times without oxygen. After crossing Bhote Koshi River you will reach Thame Village. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Thame on (B.L,D).
Day 07 -Thame Excursions day - 3800m
After breakfast, we walk upto Thame Monastery. We continue our walk to the Sumdur Peak 5229m, situated on the head of Thame Gompaz. It is known as “Special Peak” which has not been discovered yet, although it has much to offer. It nearly takes 4/5 hours trek from Thame Gompa. This is not a regular solid trail that leads to this peak. However, the local as well as visitors use this trail occasionally for grazing and hiking. Once you get to the top, you can see the beauty of Teng Kangpoche, Kongde, Everest, Makalu, Pharcharmo, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Kangtega and Kusum Kang. You also pass by Nangpa La and Tashi Laptcha Peak. Day 08: Trek to Kongde 4250m
After breakfast you walk about 6 hrs through beautiful rhododendron, pine and bamboo forest. This route is the original Khumbu Sherpa use before 1950 and we renovated this route with the view of Khumbu mountain views. From Thame down hill 30 minutes to Khumbu Electric Power House, other side of Bhote Koshi River. After 15 minutes walk you come a cross a typical small Sherpa village “PARE”. Walking through pine and bamboo forest you will arrive in the glacier of Kongde Mountain with the fantastic view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. You can enjoy your pack launch with panoramic views of Khumbu. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Kongde on (B.L,D).
Day 09: Kongde - Excursion Day - 4250m
After breakfast walk about 3 hrs to approximately 500m to Farak Ri with panoramic birds eye views of entire Khumbu Valley and view of 8000m peaks; Everest, Lhotse Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dalam, Thamserku and many other Peaks of Khumbu Valley such as Cholatse, Island Peak, etc. Get back to the resort for lunch & dinner and you can enjoy the spellbinding panoramic view of
Tengboche monastery, Namche and Khumjung village. one might have ever seen from any parts
of the world, and the entire Solukhumbu Ranges from this part. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home - Kongde on (B.L,D).
Day 10: Trek to Phakding - 2610m
After breakfast nearly 5 hrs steep walk down to Phakding. On the way you can enjoy your pack lunch with magnificent views of Thamserku, Kang Guru and different Sherpa Villages. Overnight night at Yeti Mountain Home - Phakding on (B.L,D).
Day 11: Trek to Lukla - 2840m – Fly to Kathmandu (1310m)
After breakfast 3 hrs walk to Lukla, on the way visit Chaurikharka High School, Kyongma Monastery and enroute Villages. And fly back to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Then back to Hotel Yak & Yeti on (B,L,D).
Day 12: Kathmandu - 1317m
After Breakfast, Visit Bhaktapur -12 Km, 35 minutes from Kathmandu. Bhaktapur city was built in 889 AD by the King Ananda Dev Mallla. After lunch drive to Pashupati Nath, one of the holiest Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva located at the bank of Bagmati River. Then drive to Boudhanath, one of the biggest stupa in Nepal known as “Little Tibet”, built by King Manadev on 5th century. Then back to Yak & Yeti Hotel on (B).
Day 13: Final Departure, transfer to international airport.

Day 11: Trek to Lukla - 2840m – Fly to Kathmandu (1310m)
